Bistro Steak with Red Wine Sauce
serves 4
Ingredients
- 4 ea steaks
- 3 T shallots, minced
- 2 t thyme, chopped
- 1/2 C red wine
- 1/2 C beef stock
- 1 1/2 T butter
- 1/2 t Dijon mustard
Instructions
- Season and cook the steaks to your liking in a skillet, then remove the steaks and keep warm.
- Sauté the shallots and thyme in the steak pan until lightly browned. Add the wine and broth and reduce by half. Remove from heat, whisk in the butter and mustard, and season to taste.
- Plate the steaks, garnish with the sauce, and serve.
